Hi! The picture on my Aconda has just become rounded and distorted. It's like it wants to be an old crt again, not the flat one :)
Any help will be hugely appreciated.

Sounds like a Quiznos TV, it's toasted...:)

Since that is made by a 3rd tier manufacturer, parts might be pricey and/or unavailable. You should consider replacing it with a new brand name TV...

As the PROUD owner of a 30" Loewe Aventos, I'd say, try to find a reputable repair person & fix it!
We're not talking some piece of crap, here
We/re talking, probably, the best HD picture, I've seen to date!
The electronics in these sets are incredible; just watch the "Seabiscuit", DVD, or any HD picture
The reds, are remarkable, as well as perfect flesh tones
The reason they're not in the U.S., anymore, was because, they were too damn expensive.
But the best always, costs more
If it's not ridiculously expensive to fix, do it; otherwise, buy something new.
FYI: I also own the Sony KD 34XBR960; (rated the best CRT, EVER!)
No comparison; the Loewe blows it away.:)

Loewe, those were the days...

I've a friend in Florida that does repair these top of the line PQ displays.

Not too sure if he has any/all parts that yours may need, but a rounding of the image is generally a power supply issue and those should still be available.

Just wanted to correct the notion that Loewe is a third-tier manufacturer. In fact these were by far the best CRT HD tvs available when they were in the American market. My 30" Aventos has given us endless hours of enjoyment. However, it is occasionally necessary to have these tvs calibrated (which involves a trained technician), and this might be difficult to do depending on where you live. However, if your tv is repairable, I highly recommend doing it. No plasma or LCD (or even LED) display can match the warm and natural quality of Loewe's color display. To my eye, these new technologies all look cartoonish by comparison.

This isn't the first ignorant quote from this guy, either: apparently, posting quantity and quality ARE mutually exclusive.

Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black. Be careful of what you call other members.

Since that company WAS a 3rd tier manufacturer and no longer in business, parts may be extremely difficult if not impossible to find. 3rd tier does not necessarily mean poor quality. It seems that some don't really understand what the term 3rd tier really means.

By your same reckoning, Korean manufacturers ARE first-tier manufacturers...they make more TV sets than the Japanese. Loewe is a worldwide leader in top-quality electronic gear. Bt the way...who made your 'laser' turntable? It sure wasn't Linn, Sota or VPI!

Lowe may have been one of the leaders with older technology but that does not make them a 1st tier manufacturer nor was my Laser Turntable made by a 1st tier manufacturer.

Much of my equipment (not listed in my signature) is hand crafted by very small manufacturers.
