go to blackfriday dot info to see the deal
That is a great price IMO, but understand it is the lowest 1080p model and does not have the new NeoPDP panel and I think it is missing the anti-glare coating as well. It is about $200.00 less than the S1 model which does have the NeoPDP panel and A-G coating.
It is a great price though IMO.

It is a good price. If the OP can spring for about $270 more, Sears has a 50in S1 for about $1049.
rslamon 11-07-2009, 12:12 AM I'd buy it if I had the cash
Chris Gerhard 11-07-2009, 03:05 AM Great deal and if that is the limit of your budget, I don't think you will beat that display at that price this year.
Chris
It's a good price for a good TV, but I would wait. The thing is you are still spendng $800. It still a lot of money for a bottom of the line panasonic. Some times just because it's on sale doesn't mean it the right tv for you. If I am going to spend $800 on someting the i may not be totaly happy with because it's missing some features I would like it is worth it for me to spend a little more money to get the one I really want. Understand that this tv doesn't have the new screen, anti glare, or a lot of the adjustments that the s or g has. I think there are going to be some good sales over the next couple months and there ar some on right now where you could get the S or even G for a good deal.
mythsyin 11-07-2009, 07:24 AM sears will be having a 42 inch for 649.99 on black friday, TC-P42S1 ..new features, 4 inches less of a screen but i cant tell the difference. the only thing that sucks is their warranties are hella expensive :(
mytime 11-07-2009, 10:50 AM If cash is a problem and you don't mind 42in @ 720p here is a good price. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Panasonic+-+VIERA+/+42%22+Class+/+720p+/+600Hz+/+Plasma+HDTV/9244329.p?id=1218068507560&skuId=9244329&lid=BROWSE_TOP_Pana_3sku_20091107_THREESKU_MULTI_9 244329_TXT

I know. I paid $1300 for my 42in LG in early 2007. That one now hangs downstairs in the den. Prices are definitely coming down.
This holiday season is going to be devastating for retailers and i think they know it already. I am going to look at that TV in a few minutes but I do not know where to put it if I get it.

My local BB does not have it. I would have to drive 75mi for the one that does. :banghead:
SurfAid 11-07-2009, 03:21 PM I decided not to go for it. Im going to wait till black friday. Frys Electronics in my town has really good deals on some 46" samsung lcd tvs's and theyll prob even be way cheaper on black friday. We will see if there are any Panasonic Plasma deals on the G and S series . ( Preparing the tent )
They do not have one at ANY BB in my state available. I offered them $350.00 for the display model but the mgr said according to the contract they must keep it displaying until next year despite them not getting any more in stock ever. :banghead:
I compared it with the 42" X1 and the anti-glare is noticeable when there is content on the screen. Not much difference when the screen is black, but with content the A-G really helps on the X1.

I would have to travel to IL to get one.
katf1sh 11-07-2009, 07:58 PM BB right now has the 50 s1 for 999.99 bigger better faster
And twice the money. :D
Some are looking for something cheaper. ;)
dj funktacular 11-08-2009, 06:14 PM Do you think there's much chance of a bestbuy sale on the v10? I have about $1900.
Given that the supply of them are short for the demand of the V10 series across most retailers already I doubt they will drop a lot anytime soon.
