Buying P50s1 tommorw, what will I miss?

Went to BB toinght for my second look at the TV. I can get it for a steal and don't think I could pass this up. I'm not much really concerned about my viewing distance anymore because of a great cantilever mount that will knock off a few feet, and moving my couch around for movie viewing is no big deal.

The BB guy didn't know squat (however the first girl I talked to did, so win some/lose some) and he couldn't tell me what I'd miss going with the S1 Instead of U or G

I know about the stupid youtube streaming junk and don't care about that. What I mean is the possible picture adjustments etc. I hear a lot of talk around here that certain models don't have as much customization. Will I be bummed when I get this thing home and find out that I cannot calibrate/tweak the settings to the recommended settings on this site and others?

Will I be able to use a calibration disc with some success and recommendations from users on this board, or am I just kidding myself with the S1?

The S1 should be just fine for you and will calibrate quite nicely. The U series is actually a lower grade.

Hope this helps.

Thanks dude, but do you happen to own a TV LESS than 30 grand? LMAO...I'm not sure my little P50S1 is going to stand up to those specs. Is that real or are you joking? Congrats if so.

Yes I own many TV's and none of them cost 30K but the 85" was a bit pricey...:D

I just googled the model number and got a few articles stating it was 30,000. Guess someone got it wrong then. Anyway, my car is bigger than your car...

Just do one thing, take it out of factory torch mode! When I'm in torch mode in a darkened room (wanted to see), it lights up the whole living room!

Your car can certainly be bigger than mine, because all I have is a motorcycle, lol.

I'm surprised that anybody hasn't commented on that your TV was "too big".:lol:

And just how would anyone know if it is/was or not unless they had been in my theater room? (BTW it is 650 sq. ft.)
