welp, in relation to my vertical light and dark lines on the right side of my G10 plasma screen (I think it's referred to as dirty screen? I don't know)...

at first they didn't notice it..but once I pointed it out to them they definetly saw it....they pulled an older viera plasma out of the truck and it didn't do it at all on any of the sources

they think it might be the 'A' board...the board that gets the signals from all the different inputs and does whatever it's supposed to do...of course they ordered one specifically for today but it's back ordered...just my luck..so they're going to call when it's in and come back and try swapping that....

process of elimination is a long process my friends =)

Ask them for a loaner or a new display since they admit it appears defective so they should replace it if they cannot fix it timely.

Good luck and thanks for the update.

Sorry to hear that. Like PFC5 says, try to get a loaner, at least. Thanks for the update.

they're coming back this afternoon with the A board...so it wasn't too bad....I just left it on the pedestal stand in the meantime...hopefully the board switch will fix it today...

the reason I think this may work is cause we noticed something..when using the white scrolling bar (in anti image retention option of the setup in the TV), the light and dark lines don't show up....

that is being generated by the TV itself, not any inputs.....

I figured if it were something wrong with the screen, the light and dark streaks would show up during the white scrolling bar..so here's hoping!

another update....

the new A board didn't work....typical of my luck..so they took it into the shop

they left me an older viera plasma as a loaner...42"...got a silver frame so I don't knwo if it's last year's or the year before that...

they said it could be the power supply...or the driver on the right side of the TV...so I dunno...

I'm a little bit peeved that my two month old television has to be sent into the shop..hopefully I either get it back soon or they just tell panasonic to get me a new one.....

tell you one thing..if there's a single scratch on it I ain't takin the TV back =)

If it is silver it is at least 3 years old I think. Other than the top of the line Z1 series this year I think it has been at least 3 years since Panasonic had silver bezels on their plasmas.

That stinks. Make sure to get an ETA on how long the repair will take and HOLD them to it. If they do not meet it start asking for a NEW replacement.

wow, that old huh? I know it's only a 720p model..picture ain't that bad...definetly on the smallish side though..lol

yep..stinks..stinks big!!!! I figured I'd give them the day today to take a look-see at the guts. I'll give the shop a call tomorrow and see what they think. If they give me an estimate that I think it too long I'll inquire about a replacement with both them and panasonic....

shouldn't happen on a brand new set..
