Sony LCD Bravia KDL-32S2000 - will it work in Europe (France)?

We just brough the above tv to France and are struggling with hooking it up. Is it compatible with the French system?
The specifications say:
- NTSC
- ATSC (8VSB terrestial)
- QUAM on cable
- ANSI SCTE 07 2000 (Does not include CableCARD functionality)

We tried plugging it through cable, which results in distorted video - color squares and lines, directly to the antenna - b&w lines and to a dvid player - video Ok but b&w

Any way to make it work?
It's a nice tv - would be a waste to lose it.
Also are there any system converters worth buying, if needed?

I searched the forum threads on the topic but did not find a specific answer to my question - as I'm completely green on the topic.

We also tried plugging it through the HDMI plug and "regular" :haha: cables.

Thank you so much for any and all advice!!

Not without some type of converter box. Europe uses the PAL system whereas the US uses the NTSC/ATSC system. They are incompatible.
