Vizio Plasma Display issue...

i just replaced an old Vizio P42 plasma with a 46'' Panasonic G10 plasma, but I'm wondering if it's worth it to try repairing the Vizio to use as a second TV for my niece and nephew...

when turning on the Vizio, it will often take longer than usual for the picture to come up, and when it does, it's faded around the edges, the entire picture is black and white, and the overall image is faint. If the thing had a picture tube, I'd say it was going bad...

However, sometimes the image will be fine, completely normal, for an hour or so, then it will "revert" back to the same problematic state...Also, if I turn it off-and-on a few times, it might temporarily remedy the situation...So I'm guessing the panel itself is still good, but one of the electronic components is going bad...

So is it one of the video boards that's going bad? Any idea which one? Or how much the part would cost (I'd put it in myself)? I won't spend more than 200 bucks to fix the thing...

Any ideas would be appreciated...

Sounds like a display/main board. If that's the case, it'll be more than $200 just for the part, not to mention labor. If $200 is your limit, it is not worth fixing.
