Who's picking up the GoW Collection next month (it comes with a GoW 3 demo)?

Oh, I certainly am picking up the collection. Been waiting for it for a while now.

I CAN NOT wait until God of War 3 comes out.

I might import me do the GOW collection. I was playing the PSP one on holiday and absolutely loved it. Not waiting til March for the UK ver... GTF Sony! :lol:

I have the collection on my wish list. I'm sure I'll get it at some point. I never played the originals so it's definitely a goal before 3 comes out.

I'll be picking up the collection, I thought the PSP version was great. GOW3 looks awesome, on my list for sure.

i didnt think the GOW collection was going to include a GOW3 demo. district 9 on bluray is going to have a GOW3 demo, dont ask me what GOW and district 9 have in common but whatever. also im sure a demo will show up on PSN. i want the collection just cause its GOW1 and 2 remastered in HD and trophies.

I think the district 9 demo is to try and get the demo into the hands of people who wouldn't normally try it. Taht or they just had a load of space oleft on the disc :lol:

I would wager that its not on the disc at all, its probably just a redeemable code like the MAG beta.

My guess would be its a separate disc.

Since the demo includes some footage after you beat it, more than likely it is a separate disc.

I forgot which thread mentioned the FFXIII demo being purchasable in Japan but not downloadable - remember the FFXIII demo is estimated to be roughly ~4GBs That's one hell of a download!

I wondered this as well. 7.1 is almost definitely a no. 5.1 very possible, since there are already 5 channels (No LFE channel, but that could easily be added). Pro Logic II at a higher bitrate, extremely possible of course but doesn't quite fit Sony's new high-def M.O. I'm gonna bet on 5.1.

Looks awesome! Since I have the first two games and a PS2, I probably wouldn't buy the PS3 versions, however I think it's smart that they re-release them on Blu-ray since the backwards compatibility has been pretty much eliminated.

After playing through the demo it's now clear. GOWIII is the greatest thing to come from modern technology since penicilin.

Just completely visceral crazy fun.

The demo is the E3 build, so it's an early build.

Frame rate mostly at 30 with jumps to almost 60 once in a while.

The game has great anti aliasing. Console games usually pelt my eyes with jaggies, but not the case here.

The QTEs are beyond brutal.

You fight 3-4 minibosses and do a freaking cool new piece of gameplay that isn't combat or platforming related (not going to spoil it).


Lighting is sweet, but imperfect in this build. Some scenes are among the best I've seen a cave sequence that you light with a dudes head and your firey blades. bad f-cking ass and in others there are somewhat glaring lighting errors. I'll chalk those up to the early nature of the build though. There isn't much polish on the demo, but I don't get a sense it's things that will be in the retail code. Just some small stuff.

Textures are pretty damn close to Uncharted 2, and the animation on some of the minibosses is cutting edge.


You'll all play it when the GOW collection comes out in a couple weeks anyway.

I did swear a lot during my first play through due to some of the bad assery. Don't play it with elderly people or small children near by.

damm, looks like im going to be buying the gow collection even though i have the original ps2 versions just for this demo (and the trophies;)) but i havnt heard of a PAL release, looks like its will have to be imported.

Sorry buddy, I just checked the account and our benefactor has already changed the password back. I came here first thing to see who was on to grab the demo before the guy locked his account back up, I only had a limited window of time.

I honestly don't recall what frame rate the first two ran at. The demo build we're looking at here has been analyzed though and it runs from 30 to 60 FPS, averages out around 36 fps. The frame rate hovers along a little above 30'ish in the wide open area scenes with lots of enemies (which is pretty good all things considered) and in closed in areas with lots of enemies it seems to hover around 45'ish.

I'm sure the final version will be a little more optimized and we'll see a slightly higher and steadier frame rate, but truth be told it's pretty solid right now.

GOW 1 & 2 were had a slightly higher frame rate average then this demo.

Whenever you go indoors in the demo it's locked at 60 pretty much. I think by release it will have an equal if not higher average framerate compared to GOW 1 & 2.
