Is there a receiver that "passes through" one HDMI signal to TV?

I have a question. I'm new to the HDMI/HiDef/1080P/etc scene... I want my setup to be:
1) Blue-Ray Player + AT&T Uverse Receiver + PC hookup
2) Connected to a receiver w/HDMI inputs
3) Then run the HDMI output from the receiver to the TV.

My question is this. I want to be able to watch TV via AT&T Uverse but only want to turn on my TV and the AT&T box. I don't want to HAVE TO turn on the main audio receiver to process & pass through the HDMI signal from the AT&T box. Is there an audio receiver that passes through one of the HDMI inputs, without having to turn on the receiver?

If this is possible, what is this feature called in the receiver? I don't even know what it's called to search for it!! LOL!

Perhaps this solution will work for you. Don't know your exact equipment but this is how I do it. Not familiar with the ATT Uverse set up

I connect my satellite box directly to the TV via HDMI.

I then use an optical cable out from the TV to the receiver. (Your TV may have optical out or coaxial out, either works).

That way I have the option of running the TV stand alone or get sound from the TV back through my receiver when I want it.

Connect the BluRay via HDMI to the receiver and then HDMI out to the TV.
