HK AVR 247\354 pass HD from PS3?

I am thinking of purchasing a Harman Kardon AVR 247 or 354 receiver. The main reason for this (other than my current receiver is out of date) is that my sony Bravia XBR television only has 1 HDMI input. So, in order to watch tv or Blue Ray movies (played on my PS3) I thought I could buy either of these receivers, plug my cable box and PS3 into it via HDMI cables then just run 1 cable from the receiver to my television. Then just change the input device on my receiver to view either source. however, I have read many threads with concerns about these receivers. One thing that was never crystal clear to me was, will the video passed through the receiver from either source be true 1080i or is it downgraded for some reason? My TV doesn't support 1080p.
Thanks for any info you may have.

You might want to consider the Denon AVR1910 instead:

It has 4 HDMI inputs and decodes all HD audio soundtracks too.

Denon 1910 doesn't have Preouts and is more expensive (Than a refurb. HK at least) :)

Your right. They seem to left preouts out of the receivers on the current models until you get to the 3310 model.

Of course for most people this is not needed unless they want to connect a separate amp to it, but for me with my main tower speakers with built in powered subs I need the pre-outs for full use of the subs in stereo for music and stereo bass on movies.

I guess when I look at mid-range receivers going forward i will have to confirm they have preouts for my use and likely I will be back to Yamaha for my next receiver to get them in the mid-priced range. For most people this is not needed but it IS for me.
