Hello all,

I find this forum very informative but I never had much to add so I never registered till now.
I picked up a pany g15 and this sony sound bar now my question is mostly about set up.
Should I plug my cables to the sound bar woofer and then connect that via hdmi to the tv. Or should I plug everything to the tv and just run the digital audio cable to the woofer from there?

Thank you all for all the help, since all the information I read here pointed me in the direction of this tv

Plug all of your components into the Sony soundbar system via HDMI, and then run HDMI to your Panny TV. The optical output on your TV will ONLY send plain old stereo sound out. No Dolby Digital, no DTS....just 2.0 stereo ( except for certain OTA signals sent out as 5.1 and received through your Panny's ATSC tuner ). According to the Sony website, your soundbar will handle Dolby Digital and DTS just fine. However, it does not decode the Dolby TrueHD and DTS MasterAudio tracks on Blu-Ray discs. You will need to have a Blu-Ray player that can decode these tracks internally, and send a LPCM signal to your soundbar in order to enjoy the lossless HD audio, though I'm not sure how much of a difference HD audio will make on a soundbar. :2cents
