Telescoping Antenna Mast Help

I have recently been given an antenna mast made of aluminum which telescopes up to an unknown height. The first aluminum tube measures just under six feet and there are 7 more sections above it. I would like to mount this in my attic and have it extend up and out the roof and attach my OTA antenna to it. I am looking for help in identifying the antenna for maintenance and parts if necessary. It appears to be in very good shape. I am also interested in any advice regarding the antenna and its use and installation. I live in a deep fringe area and would like to use it if I could. Also, there is a black hose attached to the bottom which is either for air or hydraulics. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can provide photos if that will help. Thanks in advance.

Let me see if I have this right. You have a telescoping antenna which you plan to install in your attic correct? Is your plan to punch a hole in your roof to extend the remaining sections to the outside? You're kidding, right? Even if sealed well at the roof line the mast sways in the wind thus compromising the seal at the roof line. Result: major leak. Let me clue you in. A telescoping antenna IS NOT intended for attic mounting and through the roof, get it? Don't do it! Mounted outside, raised outside. Just out of curiosity, please submit photos but this does not change my advice.

Perhaps you mean that you plan to attach the pole to the outside of your attic but mount the pole outside? Anyway, send us your zip code so we can see how many more stations you can get if you raise the mast to place the antenna on.

Re-read the third sentence of the above quote. I think it is clear that this poster plans to basically mount the mast base by means of a tripod or clamped to a joist IN his attic and extend it through an opening in the roof to the outside.

I believe this type of mast is intended for temporary locations, it must be mounted firmly to some kind of structure (usually a large truck with stabilizing legs) and is raised up by means of air/hydraulic pressure into the black hose.

I would not try to mount it permanently as it cannot withstand severe weather loading.

It is for temporary use only.

You see these on top of TV mobile trucks and the like.
