I just got a new tv so I changed some cables and the routing of some of my power cables and video cables. They are not bundled together but I don't have them separated either. Do I need to make sure the cables are completely separate. How important is it to keep the power and video cables apart?

As long as they are decent cables that are well shielded, you will be fine. Many situations have multiple AV cables bundled or close to each other. If you can, it is usually a good practice to run the power cables seperate, or at least use ferrite beads. But not mando if the cables are well shielded..

Well I have monster 900 hdmi cable to the tv. I Know the monoprice would have done the job, but I already had the cable. Should I add one of those clip on ferrite cores to the cable from monoprice?

making a bundle of low voltage cables (audio / video) is usually not a problem, but try not to bundle in line voltage (120v AV) cables as they can induce 60 cycle hum in the audio cables. Best to keep the power cables separate.
