archer5494 10-18-2009, 08:58 PM Non of the above announced. But good news and keeping with the Dish Network spirit they did announce "Black TV news channel" coming in HD. I can't wait for that one. Sorry LOGO channel I'm going to have and split my viewership.

daleb 10-19-2009, 12:57 PM You could list all the Dish HD channels and find many not available from other providers. You only need so many HD channels for the same type of programming.
I don't need 3 comedy HD channels, or 5 animal HD channels, etc. etc.

I agree. Honestly Dish has pretty much every channel I watch in Hd. Only a few they don't. When I had Directv there were more HD channels but most of the time it didn't matter. Because a lot of them don't even have true HD programming and they would have the black bars on the side and I hate that.
With dish they make it easy to go in stretch mode when a channel has the black bars. With directv it wouldn't and my tv wouldn't do it to the point of getting rid of the bars. It would stretch it some. And it was annoying because when I change to an HD channel that doesnt have the bars it would still have it in stretch mode. It didn't save it like dish network does.

According to the last retailer chat the target launch date is November 11th from the 77 degree satellite location. Dont be surprised if it takes an extra week or two.
passat25 10-23-2009, 01:21 PM The only ones worth having are BBC America HD and TruTV HD... BBC for obvious reasons, but TruTV has really surprised me... They have some great reality shows like the Repo guy, Rehab (tons of hot chicks!), Bait Car and Black Gold...

Me too. We HAD Smithsonian for a while. I don't know why it went away. The only SD channel I watch now is RFDTV. The Cumberland Highlander show taped in HD this year. The producer wants everyone to Email RFD & inquire about HD. Patrick is the CEO.
