KEEBS1984 10-17-2009, 03:29 PM I know I know... the big American sports are American football and Basketball, especially when it comes to video games. But soccer has always been my sport and I'm extremely excited about getting Fifa 10 next week. :D
After playing both demos (PES 2010 and Fifa 10) there's just no competition, EA's series just flat out plays better... slower, but better.
Also it doesn't hurt that EA's game includes the MLS season/teams of which I'm a big fan of. :)
Anyways, let me now if you getting it and we'll [lay a game or something.
Nexgenrulz 10-17-2009, 08:36 PM IGN says it's the best soccer game ever made! They give it a 9/10. I thought about getting it. I bought Fifa 09 for the PS3. It was good. I don't think you can go wrong with it. The demo is good! NHL 10 & FIFA 10 are probably the best sports games EA makes. Live 10 is also vastly improved this year. What system are you getting it on?

Strikuh, I heard this year's FIFA doesn't have any Refs or Nets. :D

I have it preordered from Amazon for the 360. :D
Gettin' my money's worth outta Live!

LMFAO!!
railven 10-18-2009, 10:44 AM I haven't played a Soccer game since I forgot what year Winning Eleven.
I dunno, maybe it is my heritage, or that I have family members who've played for Mexico, or grew up in a household that watched countless hours of soccer, but those commercials are moving.
If I had the cash I'd pick up FIFA 10. I'm definitely going to rent it.
kamspy 10-18-2009, 11:00 AM What is this "soccer" you guys are talking about?
Some sort of fantasy sports game like Blitzball?
KEEBS1984 10-18-2009, 12:15 PM You haven't heard Kam?
It's the game of fairyfolk and leprechauns! Word has it that each night when the moon's is the bluest blue of the blue a game is played in ALL of Fairytale kingdom whereby the winner eats the loser...
That's what makes the game so much fun. If you win you eat! If you lose... you get eaten. Really steps up your game.
kamspy 10-18-2009, 01:05 PM Ah, I see. I'll just stick with my football and basketball then.
That's the kind of information you should put in the OP of a thread though.
MikeRox 10-18-2009, 04:44 PM Fastest selling sports game of all time, shifted 1.6m units in it's first week on sale in Europe :p
FIFA 09 was great, I didn't expect 10 to have so many improvements made to it yet it's had complete universal praise. I shall definitely be getting it at some point, but generally sports titles tend to be half price soon before or after Christmas so I will wait for that.

Lucky!
Not in the States... I waited until March of this year to pick up Fifa 09 and the damn thing still ran me $55 used... plus it was basically sold out everywhere. They just never discount Fifa here until the next one comes out.
On the flip side I was able to sell it back to Amazon last month for like $25... so it held up it's value better than most other games. :D
Do they even discount Madden?
MikeRox 10-19-2009, 03:02 AM Madden has already been discounted  It was "Steal of the Week" at GameStation a couple of weeks ago so reduced to £29.99. I was tempted to snap a photo for you guys when I saw as I don't think you guys get these price crash promotions the same do you?

Not really... unless a game really tanks or is made by Ubisoft we don't usually see massive price drops, more of just a widdling down so to say. $5 for every 2-3 months?
On the flip side we do get some good deals concerning BOGOs and what not... like TRU's recent Buy 2 get 1 free. :D
MikeRox 10-20-2009, 03:41 AM If you go on GAME's website, theres even a section for "deal of the week" which usually features games like Pro Evo and FIFA in the run up to Xmas and they're one of the more expensive retailers. If you shop around you can generally save a packet on games over here. The problem is, this price drop culture has now stopped me buying new releases as I got sick of buying a game on release only to see it half price a fortnight later.
