Hello,
I am a noob here so please excuse me if this is a double post. I tried searching but found now answers.
I have a Dish 612 DVR Receiver. From what I understand it comes factory with UHF. I do have a black UHF tab on the bottom of my remote and also a UHF antenna on the back of my receiver.
From what I understood about UHF is that it doesn't require line of sight to work. That is why I bought this receiver because it is in a cabinet with no windows. But my remote does not function this way. If I hold my hand over my remotes IR emitters, it does not function. If I point it away from the receiver, breaking line of sight, it doesn not work. It acts as if it's on IR. I pull up my system info box and it has a box that says IR channel 1. Like i said though, my remote has a black UHF tab.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong here? Or am I totally mistaken that UHF doesn't have to have line of sight? Any help would be appreciated. BTW, I'm only standing 10 feet from the receiver, if that makes a difference.
Thanks for any help!
