connecting pioneer lx51 receiver to philips dvi

hi there
can any one help with necessary configuration setup needed to connect lx51 pioneer receiver to philips plasma through dvi?
the problem appears to be with the cable set top box, i need to take its power off and on, while the receiver is switched on in order to force the pioneer to feed the philips via dvi..
