I'm not into games, but I'm trying to install Batman Arkham Asylum and everytime I click on setup, or install game same error appears:setup.exe is not a valid win32 application.
I tried to copy the dvd to my hard disc(from the virtual dvd created H: ) but that didn't work either as it says:the parameter is incorrect...
So any help or tip would be appreciated, Thx

Sounds like you have a bad setup executable file...

You are missing *.dll files or you need to repair your permissions or DirectX is not working properly. Time to buy a Mac.

Unfortunately, with Snow Leopard, I don't think you're far of the mark there. I've had more trouble with this new install than I EVER had with a windows machine. :what:

Part of me wants to say this sounds like a pirated copy.

It is mounted to a virtual drive and then he ripped the virtual disc to his HDD? If it is pirated, something got screwed in the rip, compression, or transferring. If it is store bought exchange it for a fresh copy.

I was going to say something similar.

How is the ISO packaged? Is it a 1:1 copy of the game? If so the auto-installer should kick in.

WHo is running the underground now? Haha I'm so out of that loop. Who are the 0-Day teams now?

Hope not... Rock Steady tried out a new form of anti-piracy protection. If it's not properly cracked BatMan will actually fall down and die when you try to use the zip line

(greatest copy protection ever! you get a handicapped hero :roflmao:)

Really? I was considering buying a new Mac to replace my iMac. Would Snow Leopard be preinstalled or would it be 1.5 or whatever it launched with initially? What's so bad about it?

Are you running XP? Is the game Vista compatible only? Similar error message popped up when I tried installing Halo2 on my XP partition.

Snow Leopard will be pre-installed if you buy a new one now. That might not be such a bad thing. I've actually been thinking about going back to Leopard which is what my iMac came with. Basically, there's been a SHIT-ton of problems with the new OS. The discussion boards are loaded with numerous different issues. Stuff that really should have been found in beta testing, but wasn't for whatever reason. Or Apple pulled a MS and said, "we'll fix it later".

The main issue I've been having is I can't keep my backup HDD's connected and put the mac to sleep. When the Mac wakes up, Finder doesn't wait long enough for the HDD's to come back up too. Erego, Finder freeks out, and crashes. After that, the fonts get all freaky, and then random apps start crashing too. Since disconnecting my HDD's I've not had this problem.

All of this said, Apple supposedly released a "performance adjustment" update late last night that fixes this. It's not an official 10.6.x update. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet. But I have to say, if it doesn't... I'm going back to 10.5-Leopard. I'll wait for them to work more of the bugs out.
