Yamaha RX-V465eric1111 10-10-2009, 10:37 PM Yamaha RX-V465 compared to the Onkyo 606. Upgrade Downgrade what you guys think. Thanks Loves2Watch 10-11-2009, 12:43 AM In a word, better... eric1111 10-11-2009, 12:50 AM yamaha is better. Also I hear that it doesn't pass audio over hdmi PFC5 10-11-2009, 02:30 AM It has all the HD audio decoders built in, so it is not just a HDMI pass through model. Here are the specs: • 5-channel 525W powerful surround sound (105W x 5) • Decoders for HD audio formats: Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio; Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio • Burr-Brown 192 kHz/24-bit DACs for all channels • Direct Mode for high quality sound reproduction • 1080p-compatible HDMI (4 in/1 out) • Supports Deep Color (30/36 bit), x.v.Color, 120Hz/24Hz Refresh Rates and Auto Lip-Sync compensation • New SCENE buttons (BD/DVD, TV, CD and Radio) - quick and simple to use • YPAO sound optimization for automatic speaker setup • iPod compatibility via optional YDS-11 Universal Dock • Bluetooth (A2DP) compatibility with optional Yamaha Bluetooth® Wireless Audio Receiver YBA-10 • iPod song titles displayed in English and Western European languages on the front panel • HDMI CEC functionality • Initial Volume Setting and Maximum Volume Setting • New preset remote unit • CINEMA DSP (17 DSP programs) with Adaptive DSP Level • Adaptive DRC (Dynamic Range Control) • Compressed Music Enhancer • SILENT CINEMA and Virtual CINEMA DSP • Audio Delay for adjusting Lip-Sync (0-240ms) http://www.fullcompass.com/product/366275.html I do not think it has Analog inputs nor pre-outs (only needed if you ever want to use it as a pre-amp), and it cannot upscconvert component or SD inputs to DMI output. It is also only a 5 system but if you never plan to go with speakers with it that is not a problem either. It is a pretty powerful receiver though at wpc at 20-20k so if you have inefficient speakers this should still power them well. There are cuts made to features in this model get a price of only $330.00 street pricing, but if those things are not needed, it will sound fantastic and is a solid receiver otherwise IMO. | |
