Yamaha rx-v1400 video problem

I have a Yamaha rx-v1400, I have my video running thru the amp via component monitor out. Lately I have problems tuning in some channels. I use Directv Hd. When I try to change channels the video tries to convert the signal, then it loses the video portion of the signal. This is intermittent and only seems to happen to a few channels at a a time. I believe they are all HD channels. I have tried resetting the reciever to factory defaults, and I have tried turning off the upconversion feature in the menu. I love my amp and hope to save it. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Are you running the video via HDMI to the receiver? It could be can issue with the HDCP handshake and you would probably do better running the component output from the DTV box to the receiver.

Also make sure if you want HDMI from the DTV box to make sure the receiver is already set to the proper input as well as the TV BEFORE turning on the DTV box. If that works then it is an HDCP handshake issue.

Hope this helps & welcome to the forum! :hithere:

Thanks for the info, I am running thru component cables. Today I isolated the Directv box from the receiver and hooked the video thru the TV,s input. I was still getting the same problem, so it may be my Sat box. I called Directv and they are going to send me a new box. I will repost when I get the box with the results. I hope it is the Sat box, I love my Yamaha receiver. I had a tough time finding many problems with this receiver on the net.
Thanks

It does indeed sound like your satellite box since you removed the receiver from the chain and it still happened. Nice receiver...
