I hate to admit this but I have fallen WAY behind on TV technology and all the new terms that go along with it.....lol....so these questions may sound kind of "noobish" but here goes.....
I am purchasing a Sony - BRAVIA / 32" Class / 720p / 60Hz / LCD HDTV Model: KDL-32L5000 next week and my questions are.....
1 - My cable provider is comcast and I already have a DVR that has HDMI hookups on the back and I also have access to local HDTV channels with it. If I connect the TV to the DVR using an HDMI cable, will I be seeing those channels in HD or will I need to upgrade to an HD box?
2 - If the answer to question one is yes, if a program is broadcast in HD (say a NASCAR race or a football game for example) on a lower channel, will I automatically see it in HD?
3 - If the answer is no to the above questions (which I bet they are) and I simply use the DVR I have now and an HDMI cable, what kind of picture quality can I expect?
4 - It's also going to be mounted up high on the wall, straight across from the bed about 12-15 feet away so we can lay comfortably and see it straight on with a tilt down wall mount. Will this setup work ok?
