Onkyo 606 Problems

Recently I have been having problems with my Onkyo 606. I have my cable box, Ps3 and Xbox 360 going into my Onkyo and an hdmi going to my TV. for some reason when I switch over to the PS3 or Xbox the hdmi light on the recevier will blink a few times than say NO Signal. I did everthing possible new hdmi cable's reset the ps3 and the Onkyo still getting the problem. But when i switch over to the cable box it reads the HDMI No problem.

This might sound a little confusing. When i am able to get my onkyo 606 to load my Ps3 i found a little fix. Sounds crazy but works. Right before i shut down my PS3 i go into the display settings and set it to 480p than i shut it down. When i turn on the PS3 the Onkyo has zero problems. HDMI detected NO Problem. It seems that the Onkyo does not like 1080p will not boot it. Now when i am able to get the ps3 to the main screen i am able to set it to 1080p after turning the Onkyo on and off a few times. Same with the Xbox 360 i get a No signal alot. Is my Onkyo DYING

Anyone recommened me a receiver that does true-hd and dts=hd with 4 hdmi.

Contact Onkyo as I believe they have a firmware update for your receiver that fixes that problem.

I have this problem once every couple months and I have found that turning both the device you are trying to use and the receiver off and then turning them back on (receiver first) that it fixes this issue. I think that it's probably a handshake issue.

If that is the case (which I do believe to be a HDCP handshake issue) I would also recommend disconnecting the HDMI cable while it is turned off then reconnecting it.

should I unplug the hdmi from the ps3 or the receiver. The problem is only with the ps3 not the cable.box

Doesn't matter which end you disconnect.
