Lost Planet 2 has the best 3rd party graphics so far this gen. Agree or disagree.

Just played the demo. Love it. :cool:

It looks pretty good but I dont think its the best 3rd party title in the graphics department. Its just the Demo so when it releases it could prove me wrong but as of right now I would have to say no.

I think I'm gonna have to agree with ^ this, I can't think of a better one. I do like LP2's graphics though.

And I think COD has the over best image quality. Sure the textures blow and the animations are canned, but when you're just playing through it looks so freakin great.

Maybe I'm giving the console versions too much credit. It's been a while since I played one. Play throgh MW right now on PC.

i played the PSN demo and i must agree that it is alot of fun, it reminds of me playing PSO back in the days, i like the jungle environments and the bug like creatures and what not, kinda reminds me of star ship troopers. however the demo was indeed a early production demo so i didnt judge the graphics, if i did judge it then i will say they are not tha great, they where good for being at the stage of production of were the demo got release, but it says clearly say that it is not the final product, i found the demo pretty glitchy with audio and sound and overall. but my best moments were when that HUGE creature comes out in the beginning and then in the river/lake area it comes out of the water again, it was very cool. i might consider getting it once the price drops, i wouldnt buy it at $60 nor can i afford it, theres other games i would rather get first (UC2,R&C,GOD3,FFXIII)

i will be getting this on Day 1. i was a big fan of the frist one. best use of Mechs in any current console game to date. great graphics and awesome gameplay. the only problem i had with the first game was the real lack of a deep story.

as for best graphics i realy enjoyed the graphic design of Dead Space. great lighting, sound, and enviroments

Only problem is GLOW asked about the best looking 3rd party game and not the best multi platform game. As for best 3rd party game, MGS4 has to rank up there with some of the best visual ive ever seen. Best multi plat is a hard one but COD as a whole does look awesome while playing, just dont linger to long and you wont notice the textures and wonky character models.

Ahh, you got me. :cool: Didn't even think of that since it's PS3 exclusive. MGS4 did have some bad textures in spots though, you gotta admit.

"Not that great"? Are you serious? :eek: Looks fantastic on my Kuro. Maybe the problem was you were playing co-op? I was playing SP and had no noticeable glitches. I'm guessing the final product will look virtually the same as the demo.


EDIT: When I say graphics, I mean overall- animation, lighting, framerate, textures, etc, etc. And I know you can't really compare FPS with third person action games, but damn LP2 looks fine. :cool:

On my Lost Planet 1 game I get these weird graphic anomalies where there are flat lines coming out of the guy all the time. I tried to go online for online play to see if it would force an update to fix it but no such luck. Anyone else get these problems.

Eek. I don't wanna freak you out but I started having problems like that before my 60GB PS3 died on me. Have you tried playing other games to see if anything similar happens?

Lost Planet 1 received a very poor PS3 port.

i just wasnt "OH MY GOD" overly impressed about the graphics of the LP2 demo. and no i didnt play co-op, in fact i havent touched it. i only stuck with playing SP cause i was sure that the co-op wouldnt work that well since its a early production demo. i felt graphically it was up to par, thats about it, it certainly had room for improvement though, so being a early production demo thats why i feel the final product will be better, or at least im hoping so.

i have yet to play farcry 2, is there a demo? it looks really good

i still think KZ2 is the best looking graphically visually FPS console game to date, the ONLY slight flaw is the color palette, its not the most "colorfull" looking FPS (e.g. blue skies and green grass), the only uphand that COD4/MW2 has on KZ2 is the frames per sec, kz2 only runs at 30fps and you can tell, it never slows down but its not as liquid smooth as cod4 running at 60fps and you can easily tell it runs at 60fps.

I think what gets to me is not the range of colors, but the lighting and rendering of the weapon, they use a dept of field and use it extremely well throughout the whole game but especially on the weapon, it makes it look simply amazing.

It is the only game it happens on. Ok now i am freaked out anyway. I need backward compatibility. :crying:

I just downloaded the LP2 demo and it looks very nice and better than LP1 and seems to allow for online fighting of the Akrid which the LP1 does not allow. That is a big plus and making this a likely buy for me.

I did still see the graphics anomalies (to a lessor extent) with this like I see with the LP1 though. :mad: :eek:

I wonder if deleting all the data on the LP1 hard drive could fix this but it looks likely it will not since the LP2 demo also had it.

aww, it wasnt THAT bad :lol: . you had to enjoy just a tad bit? didnt you like shooting bug like creatures in the jungle? you at least had to have thought the big bug subboss was cool when it comes out of the ground, i thought that was pretty awesome, i died a few times killing it.
