GMen42 10-05-2009, 08:56 PM Are there any counterfeit Blu Ray players? I am looking at some used Pioneer players that are going for pretty cheap on ebay and just wanted to make sure there are no fakes before I decide to purchase. they are used BTW as thats the only way I can afford it ;). Thanks
daleb 10-05-2009, 11:13 PM How cheap is cheap? Are you taking a chance to just have a Pioneer? Most all name brand Blue Ray players perform very well and about the same.
Why don't you get a new basic Panasonic, Sony, or Samsung? That way at least, you are getting a warranty, and some confidence it will be working when you get it.
There is no way on earth if anyone can tell if you are getting a 'good deal' except for the E-bay seller.

That's not bad at all I agree but for smaller purchases like these I need to cash and carry , don't know about the OP though.

I can't find any information on a Sony BDP-S1560. If the model is the equivalent of the Sony BDP-S560, that would be a great deal.

What model. Iam sure the oldest bottom of the line Pioneer is better than a Magnavox. You also have to look at the seller rating. Most important of all.

That would be the Sony BDP S560 bluray player.

I stopped at Wal-Mart yesterday and the Panasonic DMP-BD60 was about $180. I didn't notice a Sony 360.

Thanks and you are correct,it was a definite typo , but not mine, the store had the label in front of the unit as( SONY BDP S1560) I dont know where the one comes in but the model number you wrote is correct as I asked for verification from the young lady working in this department, funny thing about this nicely priced Blu player they never have them in stock and when they get them its just a few at
a time,

ChrisIt is the equivalent of the model that you stated, there was a 1 added to the stores SKU label in front of the unit just for no good measures, however they dont seem to get too many of them in stock , just a few here and there, and the sale price is still listed as of this morning, :) .

Built-in Wi-Fi and decoding of all audio codecs at that price would be a first if I recall correctly.

I hope you're not implying that the Xbox 360 can play Blu-Rays.
