I have a HITACHI Big screen tv, kinda flat at the back. Its grey. I want to connect my PC, wich is a HP computer to my Tv(hitachi). My computer has the DVI plug-in in the monitor, Its a white rectangle with small squares. My Tv also has the DVI plug-in in the back. Its, also white.

I went to the store bought a DVI cable (3M DUAL LINK DIGITAL DVI MALE-MALE) I hooked everything up and there is no screen its black, and no audio too. It's like its not working

I want to see my soccer game this saturday, because my computer monitor is too small and I get eye strains.

Any help, and thank you

What is the model is your TV? Do you know what type of DVI connection it has(DVI-D/DVI-I)? And what resolution are you trying? Some TV's DVI inputs have issues with PC connections. Also, DVI is video only, so even if you get the video working, you will need a seperate audio connection.

Thaks for the reply, and help. My Tv is model is a Hitachi 50V500A and my DVI connection in for my TV is DVI-HDTV and for my computer its DVI-D. I dont know what you mean by resoultion, maybe you can help me in that.

I bought DVI cables and it say "DVI Cable Dual Link" Male to Male

They both fit in my tv and computer monitor but when I set it up, the tv screen is still black.

Audio wont transfer over the DVI cable anyways. You'll need to hook that up separately. Did you turn the PC off before connecting the cables? Once the cables are connected then turn the PC on, if it was already on, restart it. Are you on the correct channel/input?

Simple things but can easily be missed as well.

Does your PC/TV have a VGA jack? Maybe try that out to test it to see if you get a display. Maybe your DVI port on the TV doesn't work.

Does your video still work on your old monitor? What connection does it use?

Integrated Graphics or Expansion Card?
