Sub placement?

Does it matter if this is in the front or back of the room?

sub frequencies are omnidirectional so you can place them anywhere. It's best to put them nearest a wall so that you can use the wall as part of the enclosure

thats what I thought, however every speaker placement guide ALWAYS shows them in the front on the left or right and never in the back, so I wasn't sure

I have mine in front, sitting beside my A/V stand because it was a perfect fit. I have used one on the side, and can say from experience that it made no difference. If you have the space, try your sub in several different places and see for yourself where it sounds best. Every home is different, so trial and error is the best method. :2cents
