Receiver issues

I have a Sony STR-DG710, and the BD/Video 2 HDMI port will not work. The DVD HDMI port works fine. I have reset the system like the user manual says and still the same. Anyone have any ideas, I have conntacted sony support and all they tell me is everything i have tried. Please can someone help me?

It could be a HDMI. HDCP handshake issue that would require a firmware update of either the receiver or BD player. Otherwise it is a bad HDMI port on the receiver.

Have you tried connecting the BD player directly to the TV?

Sony audio equipment has a very high failure rate although we don't know if this is your problem.

I can get everything to work with the tv and on the one dvd hdmi port.

For now but I would look at getting another receiver.
