I've had my 250g hard drive hooked up to my Dish 622 for over two years now. I've used it many times. After a 4 or 5 month lay off of non-use, when I went to manage my external device it gave me a #865 error message. ("attached USB storage device needs to be reformatted. All existing data will be erased.")

I've called Dish Technical support and they are stumped as well.
Does anyone have any info that could possibly help me without "nuking" all of my saved TV series that are saved on this device?
I have a lot of TV series that are currently not available on DVD as yet!

Try disconnecting the drive, turn the power off, whit 15 minutes, plug it back in and turn the power on.

See if that helps, as it has in several cases.
