TV 2 is SD (even though bedroom tv is 32" HD). the coax connector on the TV is not good so the picture is a bit fuzzy. The s-video in is great and I have a 30 day trial with Cox Cable and their HD DVR box prodyuces excellent picture so I know it is the coax connector.
Is there something I can do with the coax in on TV2 to convert it somehow?

Perhaps you can find an old VCR that has S-video output and the RF in still works.
Maybe I'm missing something, but why not use the S-video output on the cable box to S in on the TV?

TV 2 does not have a box/dvr since I have not wanted to pay Dish the extra $$. It is straight coax cable from the wall.
I did use the cable in to a VCR/DVD but the picture quality is still not as good as S-video out when playing a DVD

I have a similar problem with my old TV and did use the s-video connection successfully for Dish signals. It will probably work for Victor B also. However, I can't get the TV to show regular TV broadcasts either direct from my antenna or from my VCR (converted back to analog) . Could this be due to failure of the TV tuner?

Yes. I have an old TV that works only through the line inputs via an old VCR's tuner from basic cable. The TV's tuner is completely shot.

What about using the VCR/DVD's composite output into the TV? If the TV has S in, then surely it must have composite video and stereo audio in as well.
