I have a 9800gtx+ and i'm trying to hook my HDTV RCA L32HD35D to it. When i run a VGA cable from the TV to the video card (via VGA-DVI adapter) everything looks bad and I cannot change the resolution. Also it detects the tv as a Generic non PnP monitor. When i try to run games the screen goes blank, not all games just anything relatively new. Age of Conan HAlflife2 the new batman game.

I hooked it up to an HDMI port on the tv and ran it to the video card with an adapter, It wors on one resoltion 1360x768. Everything has to run on this rez if not it looks bad. I tried updating the video drivers but this does not help. What do I need to do to
A- use the PC imput on the TV and get decent rez and all or
B- Use the HDMI port to do the same thing.

any help you could give is appreciated, I am new at this so it's probably just a little setting that I overlooked.

I have a 9800 card I installed on my computer too, it has DVI, and VGA adapter. I tried the DVI converter to HDMI, and the pic sucked. I go directly from my tv's VGA to my cards VGA, and all my games, and video look perfect.

Hope this helps:hithere:
