Motorola DCH3416 displays "0" ... any idea why?

Hi I'm new here...

I have Comcast digital cable tv service in New Jersey.

We recently acquired an extra tuner for a TV in the bedroom (We'd only had a silly little DTA upstairs... that only got a few channels.) The cable company agreed to activate this unit, registering the serials numbers, etc.

But afterwards, after Comcast was able to address this box... The box only will display "0" when it is powered on. I can key in numbers on the remote -- like "1-2-3" -- and the front panel numbers follow along as I press the keys on the remote. But the DCH3416 led goes right back to "0". A single zero.

Anyone have any idea? A defective unit perhaps?

Sure sounds like a defective unit. Return that one back to Comcast and have them give you another one.

Yep... Comcast swapped that unit
