Hello everyone,
Has anyone noticed weak bass output to your 5.1 home theather while using Dish Network? Reason I ask is because I get almost no bass out of my high-end M&K speaker system, I have my Dish HD box set to Dolby Digital/PCM.

This is what I was checking when my amp short circuited, I was checking to see if the SW output was inserted in the right place. I ran a mono cable from SW output on receiver to left/mono input on SW.

I increased the SW output by +12db and it wasn't any louder than before, then I increased the SW output at the sub, nothing. I found out my mono cable had severe kink damage to it and was about to change it out when my receiver shorted! Now is not the time to be buying new AV receivers, I wanted to wait until they had HDMI 1.4 inputs. I haven't listened to TV speakers in over 10 years and can't stand it! :crying:

It will be quite a while before any devices can use HDMI 1.4 so I would say go for a new unit now.
