Protechnik Audio

Has anyone ever heard of this brand? I went to a local electronics liquidation store this weekend and they had what seemed to be a very nice surround sound system from Protechnik Audio on sale for $250. They had it hooked up and it sounds really nice, but it seems to good to be true. It MSRP's for $4,000. Apparently this is a company out of Germany, but I cannot really find any reviews or comments online regarding any of their products. I did find a website for them, but it doesn't have a lot of information. The particular system they had on sale was the Protechnik PT-806. It seems fishy to me. Any thoughts?

This is my first post so it won't let me enter the URL to the website I found, but just google protechniklab and it should be the first one it pulls up. I also found a twitter page for them. Weird.

Here are the specs from what I could find online, I am fairly certain this also matched the specs listed on the box at the store:

I've got a bridge for sale...

Seriously that sounds like a white van kind of sale. I would recommend backing away quickly and quietly...before you get burnt.

Yes, that sounds EXACTLY like one of the "white van" systems. As L2W said...stay FAR away from that junk. In actuality, it's worth less than $50. From the ones I have seen, they have no digital inputs, no decoding of digital signals, few if any other audio inputs, very cheaply made speakers and amp....absolutely NOTHING that would be of any real use to anyone. You can purchase better at Walmart for under $100 ( not that I would go THAT route, either ). Stay away - Stay FAR away !! :2cents
