Choppy Video

I was watching food network hd today and the program kept starting and stopping. Almost like I was continually hitting pause. While watching CBSC hd tonight, it was doing the same thing. Is this an issue with the satellites or is my receiver fixing to quit?

Try unplugging your receiver from power for 1/2 hour, plugging it back in and see if that fixes the problem. You would be amazed at how many times it does...

Is your receiver a DVR, and do you have web access enabled? I believe there is/was a software bug that caused the stuttering on the DVRs with web access. As soon as I enabled the receiver for web access the stuttering started.

However I haven't noticed it for about a week, there might have been a software update that fixed it.

Yes this choppy picture on HD channels is a common problem as of late, you realy don't need to unplug it a hard reboot (hold down power button a few seconds) will take care of it.
