Hello. I have Samsung 32" 720p TV connected to my computer which has a ATI Radeon 4870X2 graphics card (I'll exclude other details as they seem irrelevant).
I'm using a HDMI>DVI cable.
I have a minor picture problem that I've never encountered before.
This problem seems to be most apparent with moving objects; videos and games but can be perceived in some stills as well.
Check the attached picture for an example
It may seem extreme and weird to you guys but if you look at the edges of the M there seem to be very small jaggings along them (If you zoom in you will see this clearer), its barely spotable in this picture but i couldn't find another example without it looking like normal pixelation, for example when zooming in an image so that you can see the pixels. Some 720p videos (and its not the video because some scenes/stills look just fine while there are obvious incorrections in others) just turn to shit because of this. It seems that the problem only exists when using the TV, on my 4:3 LCD monitor i've never experienced this problem. In games for example the sharpness is good on objects close to the camera but degrades the further away from the camera the object gets. Now, that picture may look just fine on another monitor since i haven't seen it on another screen (Don't have my 4:3 screen at home for the moment)
I've tested the cable I'm using on a friends setup and there it looked just fine so that can't be it.
So I'm wondering if any of you guys ever seen anything like this or might have an idea of what it is.
(Sorry about the bad example picture but as I said It's hard to make the problem apparent in other pictures)
Btw in videos, using WMP instead of VLC seems to heavily reduce but not eliminate the problem.
