Great forum! First time poster here.

Odd situation. When we have our Directv HD receiver hooked to the TV with HDMI the picture jumps/flickers every once in a while - this does not happen when connected with component cables. We tried three different HDMI cables and get the same thing.

The TV is maybe five years old and this is the FIRST time the HDMI has been used - do you think the connectors (or something inside) might be dirty/dusty???

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

HDMI often has handshake issues with cable boxes and tvs. I have a similar situation and use the r/g/b components on all of my HD tvs and cable boxes. Picture quality is equal without all the signal problems.
