I used to get the four major locals in HD with my indoor OTA antenna. Since the digital transition, I only get Fox and ABC. I would like to hold off on doing anything drastic, because I'm sure as soon as I put much money in to it, they'll get my area hooked up with HD locals through the dish. Anybody have any suggestions on how to get NBC and CBS as well?

Did the transit numbers change? Try rescanning.

Also, make sure you delete your old stations BEFORE re-scanning for new ones.
That part tripped me up after the digital changeover... :hithere:

Also, be aware that some channels may have moved back to the VHF spectrum and you antenna must then be able to receive BOTH UHF and VHF frequencies.

I had not deleted my old channels....so I did so, rescanned, and I now have a great signal for Fox, NBC, and ABC. However, it didn't even find CBS. Any ideas why?
And thanks for the help so far. Now I can at least get Sunday Night Football in HD!!!

If you go to antennaweb.org, you can enter your street address and it will give you every channel you should be able to receive, complete with compass headings and the RF channel, which in many cases will be different than the channel listing.
For example, in Baltimore channel 2's digital feed is actually on RF channel 38.
The reason I mention this is because in the local channels setup menus you can add the RF number in manually. There are a couple of channels that I "lost" after the transition but I was able to add them back in manually with the RF channel numbers. You might be able to manually add CBS back in.
Also, just so you know the reason you may have lost the CBS channel is that many channels were broadcasting digitally on one channel before the transition, but broadcast on another channel after. Like Baltimore's Channel 2, the digital feed was on RF channel 52, then switched to 38.

Alright, attached is a screen shot of what I found on antennaweb.org. CBS is the only VHF channel, so apparently that is my problem.
My antenna is a $15 set of bunny ears that I have in a niche behind my TV. I've considered getting something better (maybe something outside?), but it served the purpose pretty well up until the transition. So what do you guys think I should do?

Anybody got any thoughts on my post from above?

I use a set top Silver Sensor that I paid about $25 for a couple of years ago. Someone else on this forum said that the Silver Sensor wouldn't work w/VHF, but that antenna has worked pretty well for me both before and after the conversion.
I would suggest you get it somewhere that will allow returns in case it doesn't work for you... :2cents
