No, nuthin of that function till now, ur Ext hard drrive wud require its own power supply!

I don't know how well it will work with DISH receivers The WD 1TB external hard drive has a wallwart but it does powerdown the drive when there is no USB signal. have not tried to use it on my 622 box yet because it is on all the time.

The receiver does not really power down, it just goes into standby mode.

The actual power consumption drops only a couple of watts, so even the drive that shuts down when the USB signal drops might not work because the USB is probably active 24/7/365 like everything else on the receiver but the outputs.
