watch video from laptop thru vip 722(and out to tv)?

Is there a way to watch hd video from my laptop thru the vip722. I have NO hdmi connections on my tv(toshiba 65hx81). I have hdmi, usb, and ethernet on laptop. Any ideas? is it possible?

If you are saying you play an HD program on the laptop through the 722 to the TV, no, it is not possible.

If you are saying play an HD program in the 722 and watch it on your laptop, it is possible with a Hauppauge PVR model 1212. It takes the component out from the 722 and stores it via USB 2.0 on your computert hard drive.

It is possible to watch ur HD prog on ur laptop, with the new dish remote access, just logon to ur online acc and u will be able to remotly access ur 722/622/211 with ehd

You can program and set the dvr through the internet, but you cannot view recorded or other content through the internet.

You must view with your TV only.

Jim, as far as I know, you can watch live and recorded content from your 722 at another location, via the internet or a local network, if you utilize a Slingbox, though it will only be in Standard Def (there is also a Slingbox 'HD Pro', but I'm not sure of its capabilities).

Easiest solution for what Auk5150 desires is to get a TV with an HDMI input on it. Alternatively, most laptops have an S-Video output on them, if he can stomach watching the content in SD !
