Lightning Strike?

So I get home last night in the middle of a storm and this is what I find:

I turn all my stuff on the the proper channel but I'm not getting any video on the TV (TV is fine).
I switch to PS3. The PS3 turns on but nothing on the TV.
I switch to Xbox360. The 360 won't come on. I notice that the light on the power brick is red so I unplug it and plug it back in. It works, but the video is plugged into the TV directly. The Onkyo isn't passing the sound form the 360 (optical)
I plug the PS3 and the Satellite receiver directly into the TV. This way the PS3 works fine but the Satellite receiver isn't outputting anything to the TV.
I try the other Sat Receiver in the office and it works but it says "Searching for signal..." even though there isn't a cloud in the sky anymore
The Onkyo isn't outputting anything either. I press menu and get nothing.
My iHome (zune) isn't working either
My AC is out.
And about 7 ot 8 breakers were flipped. Of course I switched them back on.

I'm thinking lightning strike. :banghead:

not necessarily a "strike"...at least not on your house - but it probably was an "induced surge" by either the passage of lightning near-by or a near-by strike. The circuit breakers are the give-away that large currents were induced in your house wiring, enough to throw 15 or 20 amp breakers. Some of your electronics may very well be toast. Don't mess with stuff, call your homeowners insurance as see about a claim and schedule an adjuster's visit. Unless you live in a state with separate lightning damage coverage required, you stuff should be covered - although possibly at a depreciated rate.

Well the insurance is going to cover replacement or repair all of the items. The problem comes up that the Onkyo needs to be repaired by an authorized shop. Well the nearest one is New York and I'm in Alabama. So I can ship it there and not have it for over a month or get a local guy to repair it and void the warranty. I've only had it for 2-3 months and the warranty is for 2 years. What would you guys recommend?

Get the Insurance Company to replace it, it was brand new...

I agree and that is want I'm going to try and do. I can't find a HT-R667 by itself so I may try and get a SR706
