Cancelled Dish but wanna go back!

I cancelled my Dish acct about 2 weeks ago, and went with Comcast.

I have decided I dont like Comcast, and wanna switch back to dish.

I have paid my Cancellation fee of $80 but still have the equipment, just havent received the boxes yet to send the stuff back.

Is it possible that I would be able to get a new receiver since I am restarting my service?

Apparently they also want to charge a fee to come back out to re-wire the coaxes on the outside of the house. Thats BS to me. What can I do?

I just feel like I should be able to get a newer DVR since I am coming back to them. If this isnt possible I might just have to go with D*.

Thanks for any input.

My suggestion: In a few weeks Dish WILL call or contact you about coming back. Let them crawl back and make the first move.

If you do not have High Definition before, then you probably need to have a dish installed to receive the HD broadcast. Either coming off the 61.5 orbital or the 129 orbital. Some locations have their locals come off one of these orbital locations if this is the case, your installation already is equipped with it. If you hook up your receiver, go to the menu, options 6-1-3. It gives you system info on the satellites that you are connected to. Usually 110 and 119 have the 129 for HD and 72.7 and 77 have the 61.5 satellite for HD broadcasts. If you have the 129 or 61.5 then all you really need is the HD receiver. Also when you get the HD receiver, make sure you connect it up using HDMI cables, many people have them connected via rca, then you are not getting the full effect. If you get a dish dual tuner, the tv 2 is going to be a standard def connection so keep that in mind for future upgrades. Their 211 receiver is excellent in that for 39.99 activation fee you can purchase an external hard drive ( 750 gig or smaller ( at least 50 gig ) ) and turn it into a dvr. Then you don't have to pay the 5.98 monthly fee for dvr capability. Make sure external HDD has its own power source and is uSB2 with a single platter
