New Subscriber

I plan on subscribing to dish soon. Are there good deals to be found, or are they all the same ? As a new subscriber, do I have any bargaining power ? I plan to go the HD route and want two HD receivers.

Just to give me an idea of what my monthly bill might possibly be, does this sound about right ?

Programming Silver $? first 12 months
HD Tuner (2) $7 each lease
HD Programming $10 each reciever

If I decide to go with a DVR - Another lease fee + activation and additional subscription for each ?

I know all this would be answered once I called to subscribe, but I am looking for a "heads up" on what to expect. What questions I need to ask to get the most for my dollar. The 2 year contract kinda spooks me. I'll know going in what my "special" new subscriber programming fee should be for one year. But, for that second year, Dish could jack up their normal rate 100% or more and I would be legally bound to that second year of contract. Is there any way of finding what the rate will be after your first year special rate. At least a ball park figure ?

i pay about 68/month for the gold package, another 10 a month for the hd, 7 for the dvr fee...after taxes & a credit of 10/mo (for signing another 2 year committment), my bill is about 74/mo. i have a 622 dvr in one room, a regular hd receiver in another.

i also get the cinemax for a penny deal.

i'm pretty happy with all of it. negotiating never hurts...all they can say is 'no'....
