622 Timers ignoring HD preferences

Hi All,

We're having a spot of trouble with our new 622 with timers.

Even though we have the system set up as:
Record Plus -> "TV1"
Dishpass -> timer options -> set resolution "HD preference"

In operation, we want to record two shows, call 'em show A and show B, both in the same timeslot.
Show A is wanted in HD while show B is of lesser interest and can be recorded in SD.
In the timer order, Show A is timer #1 and show B is timer #43, yet show B records in HD on TV1 and show A in SD on TV2.

Nothing we do seems to change this.
How can we ensure that the shows we want are recording in HD?

Dish tech support are useless with advanced problems like this.

Thanks in Advance

Never use dishpass to record a program you can find in the EPG.

Dish HD DVRs record HD on all tuners, you cannot record SD by simply recording on TV2.

The output is SD but the tuners are all HD.

TV1 and TV 2 are outputs and have nothing to do with recording, recording is done on tuner 1 or 2 both record HD and SD.
If you record a HD program it will play back in HD on TV1 and SD on TV2

If you have a package that includes channels available in both HD and SD, then when you set up the recording, you have to make sure you have selected the HD channel to record, not the SD channel. For instance on mine USA is listed as 105 for both HD and SD, but the HD channel has the HD logo imbedded on the guide. Also, if you are new to the HD on Dish, know that not everything is in HD - there is still a lot of SD content on the "HD" channels.

Another thing is that you will see 2 HD channels (one in the 9400 range) which can also be selected for recording - this is actually the real designation for the HD channels - 105 is used just to make it compatible with the original SD lineups.
