I just upgraded to a Yamaha Rx-v863 from an Onkyo I had so I could take advantage of the HD sound on my blu ray discs. I am really happy with that aspect of it all. Here is my question though. I like to entertain a lot. When I do I usually have a blu ray playing on loop of nature scenes or something with my ipod or cd player playing music on the inside and outside speakers. It seems that since I am running my audio through hdmi from my ps3 now that I won't be able to do that anymore . The yamaha has me select the source for the video and audio on each "scene" setting. Can I get around this or can I only play one source at a time from the Yamaha? If so I may be taking the Yamaha back and hooking my Onkyo back up. Thanks in advance

taking a quick peak at the specs it appears that the Yamaha does not have a zone 2 capability. Just out of curiosity, what Onkyo receiver,,,and on a scale of 1-10,,,how noticable is the difference between hd lossless vs dd 5.1 or dts?

Yeah I don't think I can run video from one source and audio at the same time due to the fact that the video runs through the receiver itself. Kind of sucks. As for the difference in sound from 5.1 to lossless. I have to say its pretty big. Even my girlfriend who could really care less was really impressed. It's just that you feel a lot more "enveloped" in the sound. The highs are clearer and the lows rumble all across the board. The Onkyo I have is the tx-SR703
