If you got an extra $50 laying around, get the A3-300, you get a 12" with 300 watts.. That's the route I would go.. Why don't you give ED a call, maybe Alex can work a deal with you.. They(ED) are great people to deal with, they won't sell you something you don't need..
Let us know what you bought..

Ok,
So it's a toss up of the ED A2-300, or the A3-250.
Neither of them will do as well as the SVS sub and may be, just may be on par with the Infinity.

I would have to disagree with that. The A2-300 would out perform the PB10 hands down. As far as the A3-200, the A2-300 will have better output over the A3-200 guaranteed. If $500 is you're budget then I would go with the A2-300 and If can save an extra $50 then the A3-300 is the best choice. The SVS is an excellent sub no doubt about it but you would have to step up to the PB12/PC12 performance wise.

Have you performed A/B listening tests with the models mentioned as I have done?

I agree a 100%..

The general consesus agrees that the ED will out perform the PB.. Just because the PB may sound good to your ears, doesn't mean it's the better of the two..
What where your results when you compared the two??
OP, buy what you want, since your the one who has to listen to it..

I do this for a living, that is review, compare, test. And with that being said, I will note that the SVSound sub is more accurate in the lower spectrum, cleaner, less boomy yet has plenty of bass output, enough to fill an average to large room.

Yes I have heard the PB10 and must say it's a very nice sub no doubt about it but it "to me" doesn't compare on the lower end of the hz. Now I wasn't in a controlled listing room as I only heard it in someone else's room, so room acoustics, placement and setup will play a role in this. I still think you would have to step up to the PB12 or PC12 to be in the area of the A2-300.
On a side note, have you listened to the SVS PC12-NSD? And if so what are you're thoughts?

It sounds very good with this one caveat, unless you have a very large room, it is too much sub.

Yes I do have a large room, 14x16 that opens up to my kitchen 10x16. I am pairing it up with my A2-300 and the SVS is replacing my Energy ESW-10.
