Hi all,

My laptop has a HDMI slot. Is it possible to use this slot as input to fetch the digital signal (in high definition format) from a digital receiver? The receiver has a HDMI slot too and of course the channel I am watching is broadcasted in high definition signal?
If yes, what do I need to do?

thanks for your help

regards markus

No, that HDMI port on your computer is an OUTPUT so you can connect your laptop to a monitor...

Hope this helps.

hi,

thanks a lot for your fast response. I understand the problem: the HDMI port is an external port (like the vga port) and I can watch HD movies from the internet via the PC on a HD TV.

So there is no other way to watch HD TV on my laptop, if I want to get the signal via a digital receiver?

many thanks

You would need some type of video capture card that connects via USB.
