A few days ago I went out to buy an RCA composite cable for an AV selector that I just bought. The closest store that I could buy one from is Best Buy. I know Best Buy isn't known for their great deals, but I figured a basic RCA cable would still be farily cheap no matter where I bought it.
When I found the cable I was (semi)SHOCKED to find that they wanted me to pay $23 for it!!!! It was one of those fancy "gold plated" cables that was super thick with "advanced insulation." I asked them if they just had a regular brand that wasn't fancy, but apparently this offensively priced one is the only one they carry. Obviously I didn't buy it, because I didn't even pay that much for my HDMI cables...
Later on, I bought one online for less than a dollar. I got it in the mail and it works perfectly!
I just thought I should share this story, and my frustration at how much Best Buy expected me to pay for such a basic, SD cable. Is anyone else as annoyed as I am that they try to rip off their customers this way?
