Hey, I have the hardware listed below. And I'm wondering what settings I need to have my receiver set to so that stereo music that I'm streaming from my PC through the Xbox360 comes from all the channels instead of just the two front speakers. I've messed with Neo6 and such but I haven't gotten it to work.
Thanks,

I have the Onkyo TX-SR606 (simular to yours) and the 360. When listen to an Ipod or my external HD connected to the 360 i also preffer to hear all speakers from time to time.
All you need to do is hit the "Music" botton under Listening Mode on the Onkyo remote until you select "Dolby Digital All Channel Stereo" mode.. That should do it. Or just hit the "Strero" button to the right of the music button and that should toggle between 2 ch and all channel.

I have that same prob from time to time- It is due to the fact that under output in your xbox360 settings you have it set to digital output which is actually braodcasting in 5.1 but the suuround and sw output is being sent as 'blank' no audio channels - If you switch your sound output to stereo then 2channel stereo will be sent which can then be expanded by your Onkyo receiver to any of the various sound settings. When done go back to your xbox360 dashboard and reset to digital output to resume 5.1 game and movie sound.

Ya know I had a feeling it had something to do with that. Since the receiver is always receiving a 5.1 signal. I will try that tonight. Mainly to see if it's worth it.

Hmm, that is strange. I have the same exact setup as you and don't have that issue.:what: I leave the 360 set to DD 5.1 and just hit the music or stereo button on the 606 remote if I want to switch between Dolby Digital All Channel Stereo or 2 channel. But I pretty much leave it in the default "All Channel" mode for the most part for games, movies and music.

Bigloww--
All channel stereo is not Dolby Digital 5.1 It just broadcasts 2 channel stereo audio from every speaker hooked up to the system.
From the TX-SR606 owners manual page 65 All CH Stereo
Ideal for background music, this mode fills the entire listening are with stereo sound from the front , surround, and surround back speakers.
I don't think you realize what you are getting. Yes you do get sound from all speakers but it is the same sound from all speakers. By setting the control in the xbox dashboard to Stereo output, the 2 channel stereo sound can be expanded to 5.1 or 7.1 multichannel sound by a variety of formats dolbyplIIx, dts neo:6, onkyo original dsp modes (orchestra, unplugged, studio mix etc.) allowing the music to be re-constructed or extrapolated in a number of ways creating a specific sound environment but with different outputs from different speakers.
