Hi,
Im trying to play a Blu Ray movie (720p) on my Samsung 22" with an ATi HD 4850 gpu.

The thing is that my monitor resolution is set as native resolution which is 1650x1050 but the movie that im trying to play is 1280x720.

Now obviously the movie will upscale to fit the resolution but it takes only about 50% of the 22" screen which leaves alot of thick black lines/border!!

So my question is that what can I do to increase the display area and fit more of my screen with it.

Thanks in advance.

Is that a Blu-ray on a disk or one you downloaded. At 1280x720 it sounds like a downloaded movie and no matter what they try to call it, it is not a Blu-ray. It may have been ripped from a Blu-ray and re-encoded, but Blu-ray movies are 1920x1080 at 24 fps.

Where did you get this movie and what player are you using?

yea, if the movie is one that you downloaded, the problem is easily fixed by using a different codec, or media player, but if its an actual bluray movie... your out of luck... i had that issue awhile back and just ended up buying a new monitor(hdtv) lol.

You could try adjusting the overscan settings in Catalyst while you're watching the movie and then go back when it's done - A pain, but might work.
