Connecting PC to Panny Plasma

Hi, all. I'm planning to run my computer to my Panny Viera by:

1 - running a DVI cable out of my graphics card (PNY Nvidia Gforce 8600)

2 - connecting that to a DVI x component video adaptor

3 - running a component video cable from there into the component video input on the TV.

I have to run about 25 feet of wire to to get from the computer to the TV. Should I lay a longer run of DVI cable into a shorter Component Video cable, or should I run a short DVI cable into a longer Component Video cable? Does it make any practical difference?

Any insight into this would be appreciated, as would be any other advice regarding how to pull this off. The goal is to be able to watch online video, play games and perhaps eventually watch BlueRay discs, though there's no BR drive in the machine yet. Many thanks in advance for any help.

Run DVI to HDMI.

HDMI inputs are taken already (cable box and DVD player). There's one left in front, but I don't want to have cables hanging out the front.

I suppose I could put the DVD player into an anolgue input and run the computer into the HDMI. It's a cheap, upconverting player and not HD, so it's not like having a pristine connection is critical. Plus, once the PC is connected, I can play DVDs off of that and hopefully put in a Blueray drive at some point.

Does that sound like a better option?

Yes, component video is just as good as HDMI video for the most part, so that will work fine. Then just get a quality DVI to HDMI cable like Loves mentioned. You can get them here for around $20..

Also, if your plasma has a VGA input (like my plasma does) that is another option.
