hi guys, my blu-ray has been working fine until today where i tried to watch Hancock blu-ray disc and i noticed a crackling noise throughout the film. I tried other discs but they all seem to have this crackling sound...you can hear the normal sound from the disc but the crackling is over the top of it. I even tried an audio cd to see if that works but the same....can hear the music but crackling over the top..its doing my head in! I have my Blu-ray player hooked up to tv with a hdmi. Any thoughts from you guys?

cheers

I have the same player in my bedroom, and I would say that after your testing didn't produce favorable results, take it to an authorized service shop. Do this before you get too 'experimental' and that Sony becomes an expensive doorstop. How long have you had it?? I bought mine last September on sale thru Dell ($300) and while I wasn't totally happy with it due to the well publicized slow loading times, and it's lack of MP3 support,I kept it. By comparison,it's pretty much a dinosaur now, with so many better (and cheaper) players out there. Just examine closely the price to fix it as opposed to getting a better one, taking into account how fly you want your Blu Ray player to be.. Good Luck
